BTS’s recent visit to a popular pizzeria in Redwood City has left fans and restaurant staff buzzing with excitement. Vesta, a local eatery known for its wood-fired pizzas, was fortunate enough to host the K-pop sensation during their stay in the Bay Area ahead of a concert at Stanford Stadium.

V, one of the group’s prominent members, sparked interest among fans when he mentioned the pizzeria during a concert on May 16. Notably, he referred to Stanford’s pizza as “the best,” a statement that resonated deeply with the audience and led many fans to engage in a bit of detective work to uncover the specific destination he was talking about. After some investigation, they discovered that Vesta was indeed the venue the band had visited a few days prior, on May 11.

Courtney Borrone, who co-owns Vesta with her husband, Peter, expressed her surprise and excitement about the group’s visit. In an interview, she stated, “We have a lot of tech and Silicon Valley big names here, but not really like celebrity status, so it was very exciting, and also they’re like the biggest pop band in the world.” The couple aimed to provide the band with a professional yet enjoyable dining experience, choosing not to publicise the event to respect their privacy.

Despite the group’s high profile, which came with a team of security personnel, several patrons recognised the stars as they left the restaurant and were able to capture memorable moments. Courtney described the BTS members as “very sweet and kind,” noting the delight among staff and other diners present during their visit.
According to reports, BTS indulged in a variety of dishes during their meal, including Vesta’s signature sausage and honey pizza, which many believe to be V’s favourite. They also sampled a carbonara pizza, pepperoni pizza, and selected small plates from the menu. Surprisingly, the band returned to Vesta just a week later on May 18, after their concert, where they reportedly enjoyed an array of desserts.
The aftermath of V’s concert shout-out regarding Vesta’s pizza was swift and bustling. Courtney revealed that the restaurant experienced its busiest Monday ever, thanks to an influx of fans eager to taste the pizza that had won the approval of their idols. “It’s been really crazy busy, with all these people in town for the show, visiting and wanting to eat their favourite pizza,” she observed.
Her husband, Peter, was present during BTS’s second visit and shared the excitement of the occasion with Courtney. “He kind of helped to try and maintain their privacy, but he said it was awesome. They kept telling him, ‘You’re number one,’” she recounted, illustrating the positive vibe during their encounter.
Vesta, which opened nearly 14 years ago, prides itself on serving organic and locally sourced ingredients in a hospitable environment. Courtney’s vision for the restaurant has always been to create a space that serves delicious food while fostering a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.
The sudden popularity generated by BTS’s endorsement has undeniably elevated Vesta’s profile, and the couple is taking the opportunity to share their passion for food with an even wider audience. As fans continue to flock to the restaurant to sample the dishes that captivated V, the Borrone’s are left reflecting on the whirlwind of excitement surrounding their eatery.
As this sitdown with the K-pop stars becomes a cherished memory for Vesta, it also highlights the intersection of celebrity culture and local cuisine, showcasing how a simple meal can turn into a significant boost for a small business.
