56-Year-Old Grandma Identified as Woman Who Died After Falling into Uncovered Manhole in N.Y.C.

A tragic incident in Midtown Manhattan has led to the death of a grandmother, identified as Donike Gocaj, after she fell into an open manhole. Ms Gocaj, aged 56 and a resident of Briarcliff Manor in Westchester County, was involved in the accident late on Monday night, May 18, around 11:19 p.m. According to reports, she had just stepped out of her SUV when she fell approximately ten feet into a manhole operated by Con Edison.
