The short film, directed by Academy Award nominee Derek Cianfrance, intertwines the present-day festivities of New York City with a nostalgic holiday memory from 1992. It narrates the beautiful connection between a mother and daughter through the sentimental nature of gifts and how these items can become cherished family heirlooms over time.
In the storyline, viewers are taken into an Upper East Side townhouse during the festive season. A woman, while decorating her Christmas tree, stumbles upon a Tiffany Blue Box labelled “December ’92.” Upon opening it, she is transported back to a memorable day when her mother gifted her a hand-painted ornament named Bird on a Rock, evoking cherished family traditions.

Anthony Ledru, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tiffany & Co., expressed his enthusiasm for Seyfried’s role, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Amanda Seyfried as our newest House ambassador. Amanda effortlessly embodies the joy, style, and sophistication that have defined Tiffany & Co. for nearly 190 years.”
Seyfried has shared her excitement about joining the Tiffany family, highlighting the emotional aspect of gift-giving. “I’m thrilled to be part of a campaign that celebrates love, family, and the traditions we carry with us through generations,” she remarked. The actress noted that the film beautifully illustrates how meaningful gifts can encapsulate enduring memories and contribute to a family’s narrative.

Director Cianfrance has crafted a visual narrative that features the elegance and history associated with Tiffany & Co. The film includes significant objects drawn from the Tiffany Archives, such as a striking Louis Comfort Tiffany stained-glass Wisteria table lamp. These carefully curated elements serve to create a rich tapestry representing a lifetime of collected treasures.
The film’s soundtrack adds further depth to its themes of nostalgia and connection. It features a reimagined rendition of The Wannadies’ classic tune “You & Me Song,” which originally made its debut in 1994. This updated version beautifully captures the bond between mother and daughter, reinforcing the emotional resonance of the story.
In addition to her role in Tiffany & Co.’s campaign, Seyfried is making waves in the entertainment world with her recent appearance in the documentary “You Can See Everything,” directed by Nathan Fielder. This documentary revisits her previous role as Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s series “The Dropout,” for which she received an Emmy nomination. The documentary, featuring Holmes herself, showcases Seyfried recreating interactions that were not captured on-screen, adding an unexpected twist for viewers.
The dual focus on Seyfried’s new role with Tiffany & Co. and her documentary work has put her in the spotlight, generating attention ahead of the awards season. It is reported that A24, the film’s production company, may even consider a campaign for Seyfried for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards.
The short film “You & Me” will be available on Tiffany & Co.’s channels starting October 28, 2026, while “You Can See Everything” is currently showing in theatres. As the holiday season approaches, Seyfried’s involvement with Tiffany & Co. promises to resonate with audiences, who will undoubtedly connect with the themes of love, family, and the importance of these cherished traditions.
