Ashton Sedita, a dedicated Texas mother, is transforming her home into an extraordinary Halloween-themed venue for her son’s cheer team at Calfee Middle School in Willis. With the school year still new and the importance of team bonding ahead of their November competition in mind, Sedita embraced the challenge of hosting the inaugural Halloween party for the team.

Her commitment to creating unforgettable memories has seen her meticulously plan the event for over two months, showcasing her passion for Halloween and creativity in entertaining. With an estimated budget of less than £500, the decorations and activities have been both affordable and grand, reflecting her enthusiastic personality. Sedita jokingly states, “If I say I’m hosting a party, I’m hosting a PARTAYYYY.”

As she shared on TikTok, Sedita is turning her home into what she calls a “Halloween fever dream,” filled with interactive mystery elements for the cheerleaders. This celebration, which aims to foster camaraderie among the young athletes, is particularly important since Calfee Middle School is celebrating its second year of operations.
With no previous events to recreate, Sedita’s vision was driven purely by her desire to provide an exceptional experience for the cheer team. “Nobody handed me a checklist that said, ‘Please build an evidence board and turn your house into a Halloween fever dream,’” she quipped, highlighting the completely self-imposed pressure to make the occasion special.
Sedita’s love for Halloween traces back to her childhood, growing up in an environment where elaborate decorations were the norm. She recalls fond memories of visiting her grandmother’s house, where a neighbour would delightfully adorn their home a day before the festivities. Her goal this time is to evoke a similar sense of wonder and excitement in the cheerleaders.
Central to the evening’s activities is a mystery game titled “Who Stole the Spirit Stick?” This is directly inspired by her son, Christian, who serves as the school’s mascot and has a flair for creativity. To keep the night engaging, Sedita has divided the cheerleaders into six teams, each armed with case files filled with clues and tasked with finding six hidden pieces of evidence throughout the house.
Each team will work collaboratively to solve riddles, piecing together information to identify a fictional suspect. To add a personal touch to the game, Sedita incorporated the cheerleaders’ photographs into the materials, while co-captain Mackenzie contributed amusing facts for their faux police statements.
In a fun twist, Sedita has arranged for a restored 1940s police car to make a surprise entrance during the party. “They’re expecting a Halloween party, not the spirit police pulling up in a vintage cop car!” she remarked, hinting at the unique elements she hopes will add excitement to the evening.
Support from her family has been vital in realising her vision for the party. Her husband and sons have joined in the preparations, shifting furniture and helping bring the themed activities to life. Despite her busy schedule juggling PTO meetings, school events, and working on her first Christmas romance novel, Sedita remains committed to making the Halloween celebration memorable.
The enthusiasm for this event reflects Sedita’s broader engagement with school activities; she recently coordinated a “Thriller” flash mob involving 40 students during a pep rally. Yet, it is the joy of creating lasting memories for the cheer team that drives her dedication.
“I hope they remember laughing with their friends and trying to solve the mystery,” she expressed. As the night unfolds, Sedita wishes for the cheerleaders to look back fondly on this quirky gathering, hoping for some to reminisce in years to come about the evening they tried to investigate the mystery of the missing spirit stick. For Ashton Sedita, that would be the ultimate success.
