In an innovative fusion of beauty and music, e.l.f. Cosmetics has launched its latest project, ‘Mirror Mix’, a vibrant album designed to elevate the beauty routine with energising tunes. The initiative was crafted during a unique three-day band camp that gathered 21 songwriters, musicians, and producers. The collaboration culminated in five original songs, alongside two additional tracks from external artists, all celebrating themes of joy, fun, and self-confidence.

The official unveiling of the album took place on 30 September in Los Angeles. The event featured live performances from the seven artists who contribute to ‘Mirror Mix’, each bringing their own flair to the festivities. Hosted in collaboration with Genius’ Open Mic, the evening began with guests socialising over drinks and snacks, experiencing e.l.f. beauty stations, and cooling off with ice cream from the company’s partnership with Creamy Boys in Hermosa Beach.
Attendees were treated to an array of creative experiences, including photo opportunities with exaggerated e.l.f. product displays, such as a gigantic concealer bottle and an extravagant lip balm. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a lively block party, further enhanced by an In-N-Out truck parked outside, while inside, attendees received goodie bags packed with e.l.f. products like the Holy Hydration! Thirst Burst Drops and the popular Power Grip Primer.
The live performances ran from 8 pm to 9:45 pm, featuring various acts, including surprise guest Trevi Moran, an X Factor alumnus, who opened the show. With a strong emphasis on the performers, the night harmoniously balanced music with beauty influences, making it a memorable occasion for all involved.
The artists associated with ‘Mirror Mix’ each have unique backgrounds and stories. For instance, Joaquina, a 22-year-old from Miami, describes her contribution, “Ya No Estoy,” as a synth-pop song that explores themes of heartbreak and self-discovery, subtly incorporating Venezuelan folk influences. Her connection with e.l.f. dates back to her youth, where she learned to apply makeup using their products. Joaquina expressed her ultimate dream of making enduring music that resonates across generations.
Brasko, another participant from Akron, Ohio, brings a glam rock vibe to the album with his song “Look Don’t Touch.” He aims to create music with an industrial runway feel. “I love looking fabulous,” he remarked, elaborating on his partnership with e.l.f.
Savannah’s Flau’jae, aged 22, delivers a powerful message through her track “What Can’t I Do,” focusing on self-confidence and resilience. She appreciates e.l.f.’s commitment to elevating artists and communities, which motivated her collaboration.
Mamii, 25, from Hammond, Indiana, describes her song “Transitions” as a reflection on personal growth and self-potential. She credits e.l.f. for guiding her initial steps into makeup, making this partnership particularly meaningful.
Sister trio Hello Sister pens an empowering anthem titled “Girlhood Is Forever,” celebrating the beauty of growing up as young women. “This song aims to remind girls of their strength and beauty,” they shared, highlighting their excitement in partnering with e.l.f.
Sadie Rose Van, a 29-year-old from Simi Valley, shares the playful “Kiss Kiss,” a celebration of self-empowerment and confidence. As a former makeup artist, she describes her dual passions as a dream collaboration.
Lastly, San Jose’s Nezza presents “Bésame,” a spirited anthem for a night out, showcasing her vibrant personality and connection with e.l.f., a brand she has long utilised in her beauty regime.
‘Mirror Mix’ strives not only to offer catchy tunes but to inspire individuals to embrace their own beauty and creativity. Available for streaming on platforms like Spotify, the album is set to encourage listeners to connect with themselves as they prepare for life’s moments—be it a night out or a day in. With this initiative, e.l.f. Cosmetics reinforces its commitment to inspire beauty from within while seamlessly merging it with the power of music.
