A 75-year-old woman from West Virginia has been arrested following the tragic death of her husband, who allegedly suffered serious injuries after being left unattended on the toilet for 19 hours. Margaret Louise Rog was charged with the abuse, neglect, or gross neglect of an incapacitated adult, which is said to have created a significant risk of serious bodily injury or death. Emergency medical personnel soon arrived and transported him to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with multiple critical conditions, including heart and respiratory failure.
Tragically, Rog’s husband succumbed to his injuries 11 days later, on August 31. Following his death, authorities began to investigate the events leading up to the care he had received—or, more accurately, the lack of it. As part of the investigation, Rog allegedly made several self-incriminating statements, indicating that she made a conscious decision not to assist him during his ordeal.
