Authorities Investigating After Viral Video Captures Car Barreling Through Protected Bike Path

An alarming incident came to light recently after a driver was filmed dangerously speeding along a bike and pedestrian path on the floating bridge of Interstate 90 in Seattle. Erik Josberger, a cyclist who was travelling on the light rail at the time, captured the event on video. RB McKeon, a spokesperson for WSDOT, conveyed the agency’s commitment to understanding and preventing similar incidents in the future. McKeon stated that while it is vital to keep motor vehicles off the pedestrian corridor, the authorities are also keen to take care not to restrict access for legitimate users of the path.

“We want pedestrians, walkers, rollers. We don’t just want to swing the pendulum the other way so it can’t be used by the people for what it was designed,” added McKeon.
