Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., the 15-year-old son of Kim Zolciak, a former star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and retired NFL player Kroy Biermann, has been released on bond following a hearing in Fulton County Superior Court. The bond, set at $200,000, comes as part of a serious sexual assault case against the teenager. The details of the case have attracted significant media attention and public scrutiny.

During the court proceedings on September 11, Judge Melynee Leftridge outlined the conditions of KJ’s release. He is required to reside at his mother’s home, wear a GPS ankle monitor, and participate in virtual schooling. Notably, KJ is prohibited from any contact with the alleged victim, any members of her family, or anyone under the age of 16.
The bond hearing was held in light of seven felony charges that KJ is facing, which relate to an incident that allegedly occurred on April 23. Assistant District Attorney Caitlin McGillicuddy provided alarming details, revealing that investigators found incriminating videos on KJ’s cellphone that purportedly show him engaging in sexual acts and using inappropriate language towards a family member under the age of 12. This is the second time KJ has faced charges of a sexual nature against young female victims, according to McGillicuddy.
KJ has been under court supervision since October 2022 due to past allegations involving a family member. The serious nature of these charges prompted the District Attorney to advocate for a higher bond, suggesting that the amount be set at $190,000 in the event of a release. KJ’s attorney, Jason Sheffield, argued that the situation has been “traumatising” for the young boy, characterising him as a quiet and reserved individual.

KJ stands accused of multiple charges, including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, and three counts of sexual battery against a minor. The charges stem from an incident that led to his arrest on August 17 in Alpharetta, Georgia, after which he was placed in the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center in Atlanta.
Sheffield has previously denied all allegations against KJ, asserting that the young man is presumed innocent and asserting his innocence in the case. He described the arrest and subsequent detention of KJ as a tragically unfortunate situation.
