**University Student Assaulted by Georgia Man During Disturbing Incident in Campus Bathroom**

A serious incident at the University of North Florida has led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man from Georgia, who is accused of assaulting a student with autism in a bathroom stall. Jack Tyler Laroche, the individual in question, reportedly followed the victim and engaged in aggressive behaviour that involved filming the student against his will.

According to an arrest report reviewed by PEOPLE, the event occurred on August 21. Laroche is alleged to have stalked the student from outside his dormitory and into a restroom where the victim sought refuge. Despite the young man’s attempt to escape, Laroche allegedly pursued him into the bathroom’s lobby.

Once inside the bathroom, Laroche is said to have entered the locked stall with the student, creating a situation that left the victim feeling trapped. Witness statements indicate that Laroche demanded the student’s phone number, confirmed its validity by calling it, and then began to record the encounter on his mobile device.

Further details from the report reveal that Laroche reportedly put the student in a headlock, flicking him in the face repeatedly, which caused the victim’s glasses to fall and break. Disturbingly, Laroche forced the student to set a timer for ten minutes on his phone, warning him not to leave the stall until the timer went off. He allegedly threatened, “I’ll come back and get you,” instilling fear in the victim.

Surveillance footage obtained by law enforcement shows Laroche following the student into the bathroom around 3:45 PM and exiting about 14 minutes later. The victim, feeling afraid and helpless, chose to stay inside the stall until the timer expired. Following the incident, he drove to the campus police station to report what had transpired.

As part of the investigation, police managed to contact Laroche after acquiring the number he had called from the student’s phone. When reached, the man on the line identified himself as “Jack Jones,” providing a false age of 65 and claiming to be located in Georgia.

After some searching, officers found Laroche on campus. He appeared soaked and had a small cut on his leg. Initially, Laroche continued to mislead officers by using the false identity of “Jack Jones,” making further claims about being a student living on campus, although he could not specify which dormitory he resided in.

It was only after the victim positively identified him that Laroche admitted to his true identity, which was subsequently verified through identification found in his wallet. He claimed that his injuries were the result of running through a fountain but initially denied any interaction with the student.

The victim was assessed by the police and found to have minor abrasions and swelling, which were documented by a crime scene detective. Following the investigation, Laroche was charged with abuse of a disabled adult without causing great bodily harm, false imprisonment, and providing false identification to law enforcement.

Laroche’s actions have raised serious concerns about safety and the protection of vulnerable individuals on college campuses. The University of North Florida has yet to release a public statement on the incident, and the case is under ongoing investigation.

As authorities continue to handle the aftermath, investigators are urging anyone with additional information regarding the incident to come forward.
