**Tragic Rollover Crash Claims Four Lives in Southern California**

A deadly car accident in Southern California has left four individuals dead and two more critically injured. The early morning incident took place on September 4, near Wrightwood, when a black 2016 Hyundai Veloster veered off State Route 2 and descended down an embankment.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the six local residents were travelling eastbound on State Route 2 at approximately 1:30 a.m. when their vehicle lost control close to Mile Post Marker 81.30, situated between Big Pines and Wrightwood, on the outskirts of the Angeles National Forest. The vehicle overturned before crashing into a power pole during its descent.
Five of the six occupants were thrown from the vehicle as a result of the crash. Tragically, four individuals sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining two were transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Centre in critical condition.
The CHP indicated in their preliminary investigation that none of the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Authorities suspect that alcohol may have been a contributing factor to the tragedy.
The deceased have been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office as Rebekah Cabral-Gonzalez, 21, Jason Potter, 19, and Nevaeh Harper, 20. Reports indicate that these three victims were well-known in their community, and their passing has deeply affected friends and family.
In memory of Rebekah Cabral-Gonzalez, a GoFundMe campaign has been established, portraying her as a “bright light” and a “free spirit.” Described as having an incredible love for life and a passion for the outdoors, Rebekah was also an athlete in school and participated in various music bands. She worked as a ski instructor and was especially compassionate towards children with special needs. “Rebeka gave so much of herself to others; now it is our turn to give back to her family,” the fundraiser stated, reflecting the sentiments of those who knew her.
Jason Potter was remembered in a separate GoFundMe campaign as a gifted snowboarder with a vibrant personality. His family is now facing the financial challenges associated with his unexpected passing, and the fundraiser aims to alleviate some of that burden, while allowing them time to mourn his loss. “Let’s surround the Potter family with the love and support of the community that is grieving with them,” wrote the campaign’s organiser.
Potter’s infectious energy and talent were acknowledged by family and friends, who echoed that he would always be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with the CHP seeking any information from witnesses. They have also taken this opportunity to remind both motorists and passengers of the importance of wearing seat belts and the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
