Lisa Rinna, known for her role on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and as a contestant on season two of “Dancing with the Stars,” has expressed a keen interest in seeing her daughters, Delilah and Amelia Hamlin, take part in the popular dance competition. In a recent conversation with PEOPLE, Rinna, 63, reminisced about her time on the show, labelling the experience as “the greatest thing” she has ever done.
Rinna, who participated in the show back in 2006, stated that the programme had a profound impact on her life. “It was life-changing, truly,” she reflected. “I’ll never forget it, and I wish I could do it again.” At the time of her appearance, Rinna had just welcomed her daughter Amelia, and she noted that the experience helped her regain her sense of self after becoming a mother for the second time.

During an exclusive interview at the Television Academy’s 2026 Televerse Festival, Rinna shared her enthusiasm for the prospect of her daughters competing on the show. “Can you imagine?” she asked, recalling how Delilah, 28, and Amelia, 25, were just children when she showcased her dancing skills. “I would love to see that,” Rinna added.
Reflecting further on her own experience, Rinna explained how the show helped her rediscover her confidence. She emphasised that it opened her up in a way she hadn’t experienced before, saying, “It just freed me,” and described the exhilarating effect it had on her.
In her season, Rinna partnered with professional dancer Louis van Amstel, with whom she secured fourth place in the competition. The season was ultimately won by Nick Lachey and Cheryl Burke, but Rinna’s journey resonated with many viewers. “I had a blast,” Rinna remarked about her time on the show, signifying the joy that dancing brought her.
Additionally, Rinna has taken on the role of mentor, sharing her insights and tips with fellow reality star Maura Higgins, who is preparing to compete in season 35 of “Dancing with the Stars” alongside Mark Ballas. Rinna expressed excitement for Higgins and her new adventure, stating, “I’m giving her tips, little tips. And, you know, you just gotta go for it.”
Higgins, a participant from “Love Island UK,” admitted to feeling both excited and apprehensive about embarking on the dance journey, as she has no prior dance experience. However, she highlighted the support she felt from Rinna, referring to her as her “American mum” and acknowledging the importance of their connection during the competition. “I’m gonna embrace it and just try and enjoy every moment,” Higgins shared, demonstrating a positive outlook despite her nerves.
With “Dancing with the Stars” returning soon, set to premiere with a two-night event on September 15 and 16, both Rinna and Higgins are brimming with anticipation. The episodes will also be available for streaming on Hulu the following day, allowing fans to keep up with the latest from the show.
As Lisa Rinna continues to champion the joys of dancing, her hope that her daughters may follow in her footsteps adds a personal touch to her testimony. Whether Delilah and Amelia take the stage in the future remains to be seen, but Rinna’s encouragement speaks volumes about the familial bond that dance can foster.
