James Remar, renowned for his role as Harry Morgan in the iconic series *Dexter*, has shared his reflections ahead of the much-anticipated second season of *Dexter: Resurrection*. The show, which began on Showtime two decades ago, is set to premiere its new season on Paramount+ on October 30.

Attending the premiere event in New York City on October 8, Remar reminisced about some of his most cherished moments alongside co-star Michael C. Hall, who plays the titular character, Dexter Morgan. He specifically pointed out a poignant scene from the earlier seasons of the series, depicting a heartfelt interaction between father and son.

“There’s a scene in season three or four where Dexter and I are sitting on the couch in his Miami apartment, both clad in his old-fashioned kill outfit,” Remar recalled. He described their conversation about the complexities of familial relationships, highlighting the contrasting feelings of closeness and alienation. “That scene is probably my favourite between the two of us from the original series,” he said, explaining how it captured a moment of deep emotional intensity.
Despite Harry Morgan’s death in the series, Remar’s character continues to play a significant role in Dexter’s psyche, often appearing in flashbacks or as a ghost providing counsel to Dexter as he grapples with his dual identity as both a father and a secret serial killer.
Another memorable highlight for Remar occurred during the finale of *Dexter: Resurrection*’s first season. He recounted the impactful moment when Harry issues a compelling directive to Dexter, urging him to “Get that f—er.” This unusual, approving stance from Harry stands out, as it marks a moment of solidarity between the stern father figure and his son, who is faced with a moral quandary.
Since reprising his role in *Dexter: Resurrection* in July 2025, Remar has noted that stepping back into this character space felt both familiar and refreshingly new. “Working with Michael has always been a privilege,” he mentioned, stressing the intensity and precision that Hall brings to the role. Remar continued, “You have to bring your best; there’s no room for slack in our performances.”
In the second season of *Dexter: Resurrection*, the narrative will place Dexter in a precarious predicament, as he navigates confrontations with two notable killers: one celebrated for a lifetime of crimes, and another who embodies a fresh and terrifying menace. Simultaneously, Dexter is depicted wrestling with the challenges of mid-life upheaval. The storyline also highlights Harrison Morgan, portrayed by Jack Alcott, who is on his own quest for justice in their family’s darkest chapter.
Joining the ensemble cast alongside Hall and Remar this season are Uma Thurman as Charley Brown, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, and Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva. Notably, guests like Krysten Ritter and Eric Stonestreet will reprise their roles, while new additions include notable actors such as Dan Stevens and Brian Cox.
With the launch of the second season of *Dexter: Resurrection* on the horizon, both veterans and new talents within the cast promise to deliver thrilling content for fans who have followed the evolution of the series since its inception. For those eager to witness the intricate psychological tango that defines the show, the wait will soon be over, as it streams exclusively on Paramount+ for subscribers with the Premium Plan.
