A man from Georgia has been taken into custody following a violent incident involving a 15-year-old girl in her apartment. Obed Reyes, aged 29, faces multiple charges, including kidnapping and attempted rape, after allegedly breaking into his neighbour’s home in Gainesville on 5 August.

According to a statement from the Gainesville Police Department, Reyes is believed to have entered the teenager’s apartment by breaking through a closet wall from the adjacent unit. His actions were reportedly witnessed by the victim’s younger siblings, aged five and seven, who were present during the assault.
