Over Christmas, while we were spending time with family, I realised my period was a few days late and had a feeling I might be pregnant,” Lexi recalled.
After taking a home pregnancy test, Lexi quickly shared the news with Andrea, resulting in an emotional moment that they wish to relive again. “It was one of those moments you wish you could bottle up forever. We were completely stunned in the best way and filled with gratitude,” she added. As the couple eagerly anticipates their daughter’s arrival, they admit the reality of parenthood is starting to sink in. “Every week makes it a little more real, and we’re both counting down the days until we finally get to meet our little one,” they shared.
In addition to the joys of pregnancy, Lexi has found the experience relatively smooth, although she did deal with some first-trimester nausea. “The biggest surprise has actually been how out of breath I get,” she admitted. She also mentioned her unexpected cravings, notably for Arby’s—a fast-food chain she wouldn’t typically indulge in. “Andrea probably deserves some sort of award for all the 40-minute drives he made to satisfy those cravings,” she laughed.
The couple has also begun discussing their daughter’s name, emphasising the importance of choosing something that is easily pronounced in both English and Italian. “Since our daughter will grow up between those two languages, that felt important to us,” explained Andrea. While they have settled on a name they love, they have decided to keep it a surprise until the baby’s arrival.
