Kristen Bell is set to bring back her iconic voice as Anna, princess of Arendelle, in the much-anticipated Disney animated feature, Frozen 3. The actress, known for her roles in both film and television, has confirmed her involvement in the project through a recent social media post, sharing a glimpse of her studio recording session.

On 23rd October, Bell took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes video capturing her in the midst of recording a new song for the forthcoming film. The actress, now 46, offered her followers a sneak peek into the creative process, although the video did not contain any accompanying audio.

In the clip, Bell is seen fully engaged in her performance, using her body language to convey the emotions of the song while reading from a script. “And no, Anna can’t fly; this is just what I do when I sing,” she humorously captioned the footage, highlighting her enthusiasm for reprising the beloved role.
This return to the world of Frozen marks another chapter in the series that has captivated audiences worldwide. Bell’s character, Anna, embarks on a quest with her companions—Kristoff, voiced by Jonathan Groff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and Olaf, the charming snowman played by Josh Gad—to reconnect with her estranged sister Elsa, voiced by Idina Menzel. The original Frozen premiered in 2013 and was followed by a successful sequel in 2019.
The story of Frozen stands out in its departure from traditional fairy-tale narratives. During a joint interview in November 2019, Bell expressed her appreciation for the film’s theme of familial love triumphing over romantic expectations. “The happily ever after is not waiting for a kiss from your prince, which has sort of been the standard in literally every Hollywood movie,” she remarked, emphasising the importance of the bond between sisters.
Over the summer, Bell provided further insights into the production process as she documented her visit to the Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California. Accompanied by her dog, Frank, she shared her excitement about returning to the studio, playfully referring to her pet as her “temporary admin assistant.”
The actress has two daughters, Lincoln and Delta, with her husband Dax Shepard. Reflecting on the impact of the Frozen films, Bell mentioned that both she and her colleagues had initial concerns about whether audiences would resonate with the story’s focus on family rather than romantic love. However, those concerns were quickly alleviated upon the film’s release, as it received overwhelming acclaim from both children and parents alike.
Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa, supported Bell’s sentiments during the interview, praising the representation of two strong female characters at the forefront of the series. “That to me is progress,” she stated, underscoring the film’s contribution to changing narratives in animation.
Frozen 3 is scheduled to hit cinemas on 24th November 2027, and fans eagerly await the continuation of this enchanting story. As Kristen Bell returns to her role as Anna, the excitement surrounding the film is palpable, promising another magical adventure that will capture the hearts of audiences once more. With only a few years left until its release, all eyes will remain on the latest developments in this beloved franchise.
