Nabela Noor, a prominent lifestyle content creator, has recently made waves with her new series, ‘Hosted By Nabela Noor,’ which debuted on the streaming platform Tubi on May 20. At just 34 years old, Noor has become a trailblazer, marking herself as the first Bangladeshi-American to host a lifestyle series on a major streaming service in the United States.

Noor’s journey to this significant milestone has been intertwined with her dedication to authenticity and her desire to create relatable content. The show builds upon her viral social media series ‘Pockets of Peace,’ where she encourages her audience to elevate everyday moments, teaching them that even the smallest occasions can hold special significance. “This show is kind of encouraging you to romanticise your everyday and to make everything a little bit more special than you normally would,” Noor explained in a recent interview. “We have more small moments than we do big moments that we’re waiting for. So make those small moments a little bit more special.”
With millions of followers keen to see her storytelling expand into long-form content, Noor regarded the show’s premiere as a significant step towards fulfilling her lifelong dream of being part of the hosting scene. Growing up, she found inspiration in established names like Martha Stewart and Ina Garten but often felt distant from their worlds. “The televised lifestyle world I watched as a child was predominantly a very white-dominated space,” she stated, reflecting on how she never felt that such a lifestyle was within her reach.
Noor’s show is an attempt to create a more inclusive representation in lifestyle television. “I never felt like I could aspire to have a life like that. It didn’t necessarily feel so accessible to me,” she admitted. Now, with her series, she hopes to pave the way for future opportunities for those who may feel similarly underrepresented. “This [show] is exciting for me because hopefully, by it existing, it’ll make opportunities for even more to come,” she added.
The series reflects her genuine experiences, portraying her life in a blended, multicultural household, and emphasising her ties to her heritage, including prominently featuring her mother, who wears the hijab. Noor has made it a point to underscore her commitment to authenticity. She stated, “From day one, I let go of the pressure to build a series that represents a whole group of people or a whole culture; instead, I just needed to represent myself as the host.”
In her perspective, she does not carry the burden of embodying the experiences of all brown women. “No one’s looking at Martha [Stewart] and is like, ‘Martha, you represent all white women across the board.’ I don’t need to represent all brown women; I just need to be me, and I hope that resonates,” Noor explained.
Her comparability to Stewart, often dubbed “the Brown Martha Stewart,” is an association she embraces. “When my audience has hailed me that time and time again, I always take it as the biggest compliment, because I understand what that represents,” said Noor. She also noted the weight of the comparison, acknowledging the accolades while remaining grounded in her individuality. “It’s huge shoes to fill, and I do not believe that I am her in any capacity. I’m definitely me, but I get what that means, and it is the highest praise.”
Despite the challenges of breaking through in a traditionally homogenous space, Noor’s new series stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration for upcoming content creators of diverse backgrounds. Her commitment to authenticity and representation continues to resonate with audiences across the country.
As she embarks on this exciting new chapter in her career, Nabela Noor is not only fulfilling her dreams but also paving the way for future generations to see themselves reflected on their screens. With ‘Hosted By Nabela Noor’, she continues to champion the idea that every moment can be extraordinary, inspiring her viewers to embrace their own stories and experiences.
