Ryan Fournier, a prominent figure in conservative activism and co-founder of the group Students for Trump, has been apprehended in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident. The 30-year-old was arrested on charges of misdemeanor simple assault and making attempted threats to inflict bodily harm. The incident occurred on the night of May 26 at an apartment complex in Washington, D.C.

According to an arrest affidavit, a witness described as Fournier’s roommate reported disturbing details about the confrontation. The witness claimed to have heard a woman attempting to wake Fournier, who allegedly responded with aggressive statements, including, “Don’t touch me, woman!” and “Do you want me to crush your head in with this lamp?”

The alleged victim, who had reportedly been in a two-month relationship with Fournier and was visiting him, told law enforcement that she found him lying on the floor, appearing intoxicated. Upon waking him, Fournier allegedly became violent, swinging his fists and striking her in the face multiple times. The victim recounted that he also got on top of her during the assault. Notably, she mentioned that although Fournier had a switchblade nearby, he did not brandish it during the encounter.
The affidavit further revealed that the woman claimed Fournier made threats during the incident, stating, “I’ll kill everyone here,” while indicating that such remarks were not uncommon in their interactions. The witness, who tried to intervene amidst the escalating situation, stated that Fournier was seen shouting phrases such as “Do you want to die today?” before the victim sought refuge in the bathroom.
After witnessing the physical altercation, the roommate called emergency services, asserting that the victim appeared to have been physically assaulted. As the police arrived, Fournier had left the apartment, prompting the victim to express concerns for her safety, stating to the witness, “Don’t let him stab me.”
Fournier subsequently pleaded not guilty at an arraignment hearing held on the same day of his arrest. The court has scheduled a follow-up hearing for July 7, during which further legal proceedings will take place. His attorney did not provide any comments regarding the case when approached by reporters.
In addition to his role with Students for Trump, Fournier has been recognised for his political activism, earning the Newsmax accolade of ‘30 Most Influential Republicans Under 30’ for two consecutive years. He is also the executive director of Radical Alert, a group that monitors and responds to what it considers left-wing extremism and political violence.
The situation surrounding Fournier has garnered considerable media attention, particularly due to his influence in conservative circles. The seriousness of the allegations raises significant concerns about domestic violence and its repercussions.
