Rebel Wilson, the star of the popular film franchise ‘Pitch Perfect’, has recently embraced motherhood for the second time. Earlier this month, Wilson and her partner, fashion designer Ramona Agruma, welcomed their second daughter, Rose, following a challenging journey through in vitro fertilisation (IVF). This joyful news comes less than a year after the couple’s first child, Royce, was born via surrogate in November 2022.

In a light-hearted post shared on her Instagram Stories, the 46-year-old actress showcased her eldest daughter, Royce, sitting in a director’s chair. The image, captioned “Roycie’s first US acting job,” depicts the three-year-old wearing a purple ensemble adorned with a matching bow in her hair. Playing creatively with a colouring book and Play-Doh, Royce’s budding personality was evident, much to the delight of her proud mother.

Reflecting on her motherhood journey, Wilson expressed deep gratitude for the arrival of her children. The actress first welcomed Royce to the world on November 7, 2022, via surrogate. At the time, she shared an emotional post, stating, “I can’t even describe the love I have for her; she’s a beautiful miracle!” This monumental change in Wilson’s life came after an impressive health transformation, in which she lost approximately 80 pounds as part of what she described as a “year of health.”
Wilson has been candid about her struggles with fertility, revealing that her quest for motherhood had its challenges. In an interview last year, she recounted a visit to a fertility specialist back in 2019, where the doctor suggested she consider losing weight. Initially shocked by the advice, Wilson reflected on how it ultimately motivated her to prioritise her own health, inspiring her to pursue a healthier lifestyle for the sake of her future children.
In August 2023, Wilson shared with PEOPLE magazine that the highlight of her day was always returning home to her daughter. “I throw Royce up in the air until she giggles, I tickle her, and I help put her to bed. She just melts my heart,” she revealed, highlighting the joy her daughter brings her.
With the arrival of Rose, Wilson and Agruma expressed their excitement about expanding their family. The couple described feeling immensely grateful to be parents once more after experiencing the ups and downs that accompany IVF. “We are so excited about new baby Rose, and for Royce to be a big sister!” they expressed, emphasising the joy of being a family of four.
In their statement, Wilson and Agruma also showed compassion for others facing similar challenges, acknowledging the difficulties that come with fertility issues. “So we are feeling really lucky and blessed right now, but also thinking of everyone out there who’s struggling on the same path,” they shared. Agruma’s pregnancy was noted as high risk, which added an element of anxiety to the journey, but the couple felt immense relief and elation following Rose’s safe arrival.
Before Rose’s birth, Agruma announced her pregnancy on Instagram, joyfully announcing to their followers, “The happiest news in our family 🥰 it will be 4 of us soon! Baby number 2 is on her way,” reinforcing the couple’s love and excitement for their growing family.
As Wilson navigates the realities of motherhood, she does so with enthusiasm and a commitment to her family’s well-being. Her transformation into a mother of two marks a significant chapter in her life, filled with the love and laughter that a bustling household can bring. With Wilson’s public journey serving as an inspiration for many, her story highlights both the triumphs and challenges of parenthood, fostering a sense of connection with those on similar paths.
