In a conversation with TV Guide’s Stephanie Sloane, Mansi described her decision to leave as a challenging one, highlighting that she has been offered several new projects. With her husband, Matt McInnis, currently engaged in the production of a series that largely takes place overseas, Mansi indicated the need for flexibility in her schedule to facilitate travel while continuing her work in Los Angeles.
Joining General Hospital in 2023, Mansi captivated audiences through over 200 episodes as Kristina. Before her time on the show, she spent nine successful years on Days of Our Lives. Reflecting on her experience, she expressed immense gratitude to the show’s executive producer Frank Valentini, ABC, and the writers for the care and attention given to her character. Mansi labelled her time on General Hospital as “a meaningful and unforgettable ride.”

The actress shared that two aspects of Kristina’s character deeply resonated with her: the chance to positively represent the queer community by portraying an LGBTQ+ character and the opportunity to shed light on endometriosis through storytelling. Mansi felt a profound responsibility to depict these narratives authentically and is proud of how they were handled on the show.
Mansi’s journey in depicting endometriosis was particularly poignant, as she herself has battled the condition. Earlier this year, she opened up about her personal experiences, recalling an incident in 2015 when she suffered severe pain while on set. After enduring excruciating cramping, she ultimately sought emergency medical assistance, where scans uncovered an 11-centimetre mass in her abdomen. Her stepfather, an OB-GYN, performed a life-saving surgery, which underscored the seriousness of her condition and ignited her passion for representing it on-screen.

“It was incredibly meaningful to explore endometriosis in General Hospital,” she explained. “Throughout my career, I have never encountered a script that focused on this issue. I felt proud of ABC and Frank Valentini for their commitment to telling this story, which deserves more visibility in the media.”
As she moves on from General Hospital, Mansi leaves the door open for a potential return. Valentini extended his support and expressed appreciation for her contributions to the show. He stated, “We love Kate and support her decision to leave. Her impact over the past three years has been immensely valued.”
Looking ahead, Mansi is eager to embrace new opportunities that lie before her. “It feels like the right time for both Kristina and me to step into new adventures,” she remarked. With her history in television and the emotional narratives she has brought to life, her next projects are sure to be eagerly anticipated by both fans and colleagues in the industry.
As the soap community bids farewell to one of its beloved characters, the spotlight now turns to what Mansi will create next in her blossoming career. Her journey thus far has certainly touched many, and her passionate advocacy for both representation and personal experiences has left a lasting mark on her audience.
