Lori Greiner, known for her remarkable contributions as an investor on the popular television programme ‘Shark Tank’, recently shared her thoughts on the emotional and practical aspects of her role in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. Greiner, who has been part of the show since 2012, expressed her enthusiasm for the programme and the joy she derives from collaborating with budding entrepreneurs.
In a conversation during Disney’s inaugural Toast to Television event, Greiner, now aged 56, reflected on the impact of ‘Shark Tank’, which has maintained its appeal for nearly two decades. “One of the things that I love about our show is that people come up to me all the time and say, ‘This is the only show my whole family watches together.’ It’s fantastic that we can unite various generations around a single programme,” she stated.

Greiner emphasised how the show not only entertains but also plays a vital role in helping entrepreneurs realise their dreams. “We come together to support entrepreneurs, and it brings happiness to everyone involved,” she added, highlighting the spirit of collaboration that characterises the show.
Since joining the panel, Greiner has made her mark by investing in a variety of successful brands, including a notable 20% stake in Scrub Daddy, a product renowned for its innovative sponge design. The investment process, according to Greiner, is never the same, with some deals being wrapped up in as little as 15 minutes, while others can take up to 45 minutes.
Once a deal is secured, Greiner doesn’t waste any time. “I always call the entrepreneurial team right away to express my excitement. We go through our due diligence, but my enthusiasm for the project is immediate,” she shared. Greiner elaborated on her approach, saying, “I start thinking about how to support them, what strategies we should pursue, and what the first steps should be. I like to think from a broad perspective to devise an effective strategy to expand the business.”
Greiner’s journey in business predates her television fame, as she earned the nickname “Queen of QVC” from her successful show titled Clever & Unique Creations. Her long-standing experience in the industry fuels her passion for aiding upcoming entrepreneurs as they navigate the complexities of launching their brands. “I understand the challenges they face, as I once stood in their shoes,” she said. “I’m particularly drawn to ideas with the potential to positively influence the world. Success comes with a responsibility to give back and to highlight meaningful causes.”
Moreover, the influence of ‘Shark Tank’ extends beyond the deals made on-screen. Greiner stated that the programme is a source of inspiration for viewers at home. “I believe it encourages people to feel empowered and hopeful about their own lives,” she remarked, illustrating the motivational essence of the show.
In the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship, Greiner’s dedication to fostering growth in new businesses is evident. She approaches each potential investment with a familial mindset, desiring not only to profit but also to create a lasting positive impact.
As ‘Shark Tank’ continues to capture the hearts of families across the country, Lori Greiner remains a steadfast figure in the realm of investment, promoting not only financial success but also emotional fulfilment for those she chooses to support. Whether it is through spirited negotiations or strategic planning, Greiner’s commitment to embedding inspiration and empowerment within the entrepreneurial landscape is as resolute as ever.
