In a significant ruling, Skiboky Stora, a 42-year-old man from New York, has been sentenced to serve between three to nine years in state prison following his conviction for a series of violent acts, including the assault of social media influencer Halley Kate. The conviction stems from incidents that occurred over a two-year period, marked by aggression and hate-fuelled violence against various individuals.

The verdict was announced on April 14 by the Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin L. Bragg Jr., highlighting the disturbing nature of Stora’s offences. His actions were reported as having a clear pattern of targeting strangers based on their gender and race, which included incidents of harassment, stalking, and physical assault. Each of Stora’s victims has now been granted full Orders of Protection, according to the D.A.’s announcement.
Stora’s life altered course dramatically following the attack on Halley Kate, who was just 25 at the time. In March 2024, she recounted the shocking experience on TikTok shortly after it occurred, describing how an unprovoked assault left her injured. Kate noted in her video, “I was literally just walking, and a man came up and punched me in the face. Oh my God, it hurts so bad,” displaying the damage inflicted during the encounter.
The District Attorney’s office indicated that Stora’s violent actions did not end with Kate. The investigation revealed he had been involved in additional incidents, including elbowing a 17-year-old boy and a 37-year-old woman on separate occasions in Manhattan. Such behaviour raised severe concerns about his conduct and motivations, with prosecutors reporting alarming statements made by Stora during these confrontations.
In one incident, after attacking the young man, Stora allegedly declared, “You people think you can do whatever the f— you want,” indicating a deeper underlying hostility. Further compounding the situation, a Jewish couple accused Stora of vandalising posters related to Israeli hostages and subsequently threatening them with remarks like “Die, Jews, die” upon being photographed.
On February 3, 2026, nearly two years after the initial assault, Kate returned to court to testify against Stora. This pivotal moment for her was marked significantly in a social media post, where she posed outside the Manhattan courthouse, reflecting on the emotional weight of the experience. The trial concluded on February 25, with Stora found guilty of all charges against him, including assault as a hate crime and aggravated harassment. Initially, Stora had pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
In the aftermath of the trial’s conclusion, Kate shared her relief and triumph with her followers, expressing joy upon learning of the guilty verdict. In another TikTok, she conveyed the moment by synchronising sounds with text that announced Stora’s conviction and subsequent incarceration. Kate has been candid about her feelings leading up to her court testimony, openly admitting her trepidation regarding confronting her assailant. She expressed anxiety about facing a man who had previously assaulted her, saying, “This man is also still free, and who’s to say what he’s capable of?” Nevertheless, Kate acknowledged the importance of her testimony, stating, “I feel like it would be wrong to allow him to walk freely on the streets.”
D.A. Bragg emphasised the implications of Stora’s conduct during his statement at the sentencing. He noted, “Stora engaged in a disturbing pattern of hate-fuelled violence targeting and intimidating strangers, causing physical harm and lasting emotional trauma to these New Yorkers.” Bragg asserted that the result of this case serves as a crucial deterrent against similar behaviour, signifying that hate-driven violence would not be tolerated.
