Jon Cryer, the acclaimed actor known for his Emmy-winning role in *Two and a Half Men*, is making a significant return to the stage after a lengthy absence. Cryer will succeed Jason Kravits in the role of Panch, who has been part of the production since its premiere in November 2025. Kravits is leaving due to other professional obligations, performing his final show on 10 May. Cryer’s return to the theatre adds notable star power to the production, which is currently enjoying an extended run in New York City.

The production of *The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee* celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The musical was originally developed at Barrington Stage Company and made its Off-Broadway debut in 2005. It quickly moved to Broadway’s Circle in the Square Theatre, running for nearly three years and winning two Tony Awards, including one for its book written by Rachel Sheinkin.
Cryer will share the stage with a talented cast that includes Kevin McHale, best known for his role in *Glee*, who plays the character William Barfée.
