Despite the extended separation from his loved ones, Wilmore expressed gratitude for the extraordinary opportunity that arose from the ordeal. “It’s an absolute privilege to be able to serve your country in this fashion in space,” he remarked. This classification highlights the serious nature of the mechanical failures they experienced.
