TikTok has officially announced its foray into the world of radio with the introduction of TikTok Radio, set to premiere on Friday, 13th March. This new venture is a collaborative effort with iHeartMedia, combining popular music with the influential creators, trends, and viral phenomena that characterise the TikTok platform.

The launch event will take place live from the iHeartPodcast Hotel at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. Following its debut, TikTok Radio will be accessible through the free iHeartRadio app and will broadcast across 28 radio stations in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and Miami.

The programming on TikTok Radio promises to deliver a unique blend of music and cultural insights. Key features include “Behind the Charts”, where listeners can explore the ten biggest songs trending on TikTok alongside intriguing stories about the artists involved. Another segment, “Hacks on the :20s”, will offer a spotlight on trending life hacks, catering to the platform’s engaged user base who seek to incorporate practical tips into their daily lives.
Additionally, listeners can look forward to “Hot Takes”, which will provide light-hearted commentary on contemporary lifestyle and cultural issues. The segment “New Music Fridays” will shine a light on that week’s hottest music releases, while “On the Verge” will highlight up-and-coming artists poised for mainstream success.
Dan Page, the global head of media and licensing partnerships at TikTok, expressed enthusiasm about the project, emphasising that the initiative aligns with TikTok’s mission of empowering creators. “At TikTok, empowering creators to turn their passions into lasting careers is core to everything we do,” he stated. “This partnership unlocks powerful new opportunities for them to expand their voices across radio, podcasts, and live moments while connecting with fans in exciting new ways.”
In conjunction with the radio launch, iHeartMedia and TikTok have announced several notable creators who will join the TikTok Podcast Network. Among these is “Suite 305” hosted by social media star Lele Pons, which promises an intimate and unfiltered view of the personalities shaping pop culture.
Fashion editor and personality Caroline Vazzana will host “Caroline’s Closet”, providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the fashion industry. Meanwhile, “Sports Slice”, hosted by Tim Martin, will offer robust discussions on notable sports stories through the lens of a passionate creator.
Former college football player and viral sensation Clifford Taylor IV is set to present “The Clifford Show”, where he’ll discuss the nuances of establishing a career in sports and media. “The Set List” with Carter Gregory will take listeners backstage, engaging with artists and creatives to illustrate the mechanisms behind cultural creation.
Tom Poleman, chief programming officer for iHeartMedia, highlighted the synergy between the two platforms, saying, “This next chapter of our multiplatform partnership with TikTok unlocks the full power of both ecosystems.” He emphasised that the station is designed to feel like a dynamic, living feed that merges creators, music enthusiasts, and radio talent to shape future cultural moments.
Poleman further elaborated on the vision for TikTok Radio: “From live broadcasts at SXSW to creator-led podcasts and trend-driven radio programming, we’re merging the best of our platforms to amplify creators, elevate emerging voices and give fans a comprehensive experience across audio, video, and live moments.”
The launch of TikTok Radio signifies a significant development for the platform as it seeks to broaden its reach beyond social media and into traditional radio, presenting a new way for creators to connect with audiences while diversifying content delivery methods. With its unique blend of music, culture, and engaging discussions, TikTok Radio aims to become a notable player in the audio landscape.
