A 47-year-old man has been sentenced to just under 29 months in prison following a burglary in Ashford, Kent. Anthony Allen was found guilty at Canterbury Crown Court, where he received a sentence of two years, four months, and 23 days for his crimes. The sentencing occurred on 27 February 2023.

Allen’s arrest stemmed from a burglary reported in the early hours of 26 December 2022. Local residents contacted Kent Police when they discovered their home had been ransacked. A thorough investigation revealed that several valuables were missing, including cash, jewellery, and a pair of Apple AirPods.
In a surprising twist, police were able to track down the stolen AirPods, which were still connected to their original owner’s device. This tracking capability led authorities directly to Allen, who was located the following day in a loft in the nearby area of Stanhope.
