The day began with the delivery of Shawn Jr., weighing an impressive 13 lbs. He has now earned the title of the largest baby ever born at Cayuga Medical Center. Parents Terrica and Shawn were aware that their newborn would be sizeable, but the reality of his weight took them by surprise.
“It felt like we skipped straight to having a 3-month-old,” remarked Terrica, a mother of two other sons and a daughter. With her newborn already needing three to six-month-sized clothes and diapers, she expressed her astonishment in a statement provided to the medical staff.
