The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the emergency call at approximately 4:00 a.m., just five minutes before arriving to find smoke pouring from the residence.
According to LAFD Captain Erik Scott, the elderly couple, who had reportedly lived in their home for around 50 years, were respected members of the community. “What we’ve been hearing is that they are a beautiful elderly couple,” he remarked.
