Actress Danielle Fishel, well-known for her role in the popular series Boy Meets World, recently shared exclusive insights into her preparations for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) alongside her partner, professional dancer Pasha Pashkov.

In an interview with PEOPLE at the ABC Summer Soirée in Los Angeles, Fishel, 44, and Pashkov, 39, discussed how they are getting ready for the intense competition in season 34. As they aim for the coveted mirrorball trophy, the duo emphasised the importance of prioritising their health and well-being during the rigorous training period.

For Fishel, establishing consistent routines has become essential. She revealed, “Stretching has become a non-negotiable for me. I have to stretch every single night. I have to stretch every single morning. I’m trying to stay hydrated because it is very hot and we are sweating a lot, so I’m trying to stay hydrated.”
Moreover, the actress shared her efforts to incorporate cold plunges into her routine to aid muscle recovery. Recognising the demanding nature of the competition, Fishel is dedicated to taking care of herself physically to perform at her best.
Pashkov echoed the sentiment, advising contestants to “stay focused” and remain committed to their individual journeys without getting distracted by others. He emphasised the importance of proper hydration, sleep, stretching, and recovery, underscoring the intense physical toll even experienced dancers like himself can face.
While looking forward to the DWTS premiere on September 16, Fishel expressed a sense of camaraderie knowing that shared challenges, such as muscle soreness, are part of the competitive journey with Pashkov.
Earlier this year, Fishel revealed her battle with breast cancer and how it influenced her decision to join DWTS after completing her treatment. She shared, “The minute I was done with my cancer treatment, I thought to myself, ‘If this has shown me anything, it has shown me that I am not experiencing enough joy in my life.'”
Having undergone surgery and radiation therapy for her diagnosis, Fishel embraced the opportunity to participate in DWTS as a chance to embrace joy and celebrate life.
As the new season of Dancing with the Stars approaches, fans can catch Fishel and Pashkov’s performances as they vie for the mirrorball trophy, showcasing their dedication to the art of dance and the resilience needed to excel on the show.
Don’t miss the season 34 premiere of Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday, September 16, airing on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.
