A woman from Michigan has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her dog multiple times and then sharing a video of the incident on social media. The Detroit resident, Jordan Love, 29, reportedly left her abused dog, along with two other dogs and four cats, behind before fleeing Michigan. She now faces charges of second-degree killing/torturing animals and abandoning/cruelty to four to 10 animals, potentially leading to a total of nine years in prison if convicted.

On Friday, February 7, Love allegedly stabbed the dog multiple times and recorded the act, justifying her actions by claiming the dog had gone after one of her cats. The video was then shared on social media, sparking outrage and prompting authorities to intervene. Detroit Animal Control (DAC) officers responded to reports of a stabbed dog at Love’s residence and found the injured animal in the basement with multiple stab wounds to its torso. The officers also rescued two other dogs and four cats from the same location.
Love fled Michigan after the incident, relocating to Greenville, South Carolina. However, she was later tracked down by authorities on Thursday, March 20, and brought back to Michigan to face charges. During her arraignment on Thursday, April 10, Love was given a $50,000 cash/surety bond and a GPS tether. Further legal proceedings, including a bond re-determination hearing on April 14 and court dates for probable cause conference and preliminary examination, have been scheduled.
