The family of Chantel Brooks, a 37-year-old woman who has been missing for over three months, is determined to keep her case in the public’s consciousness. Chantel was last seen on July 17, outside a CVS pharmacy in Fairfield, California. Surveillance footage captured her leaving her workplace in San Francisco around 12:20 a.m., and later, footage from CVS showed her approaching her black 2021 Infiniti QX50 at approximately 1:45 a.m. Since then, her family has tirelessly advocated for her safe return.

Chantel’s brother, Kevin Robinson, emphasised the human aspect of the situation, stating, “I want people to understand that my sister is more than a missing persons flyer or a news headline.” His sentiments were echoed by his brother Calvin, who resides in Los Angeles. Calvin made an immediate trip to the Bay Area upon hearing the distressing news about Chantel. “My life has kind of been on pause, and I don’t mind,” he said, highlighting his commitment to the search. “I love her. That’s my sister. I’m going to do anything I can to help bring her back.”
Described as a hardworking and ambitious individual, Chantel, often referred to as CiCi, ran her own beauty business called Glamour House. Calvin expressed not only his love for his sister but also the profound impact she had on his life as a confidante. “She was somebody I could always talk to,” he reflected. “Anything I was going through, I could vent to her.” This close-knit bond is evident in the brothers’ unwavering resolve to bring her home.
Authorities have expressed concerns regarding potential foul play in Chantel’s disappearance. A press release from the Fairfield Police Department stated that they are treating the case seriously. Kevin affirmed their cooperation, noting, “I can say the Fairfield Police Department has been doing everything they possibly can… they reach out to us every Friday.” Their communication efforts have provided some reassurance to the family during this difficult time.
Despite the police’s efforts, the brothers have taken it upon themselves to advocate for heightened awareness, particularly regarding the challenges faced by Black women who go missing. Kevin highlighted this issue during a meeting with local officials, including the mayor and the police chief, to ensure Chantel’s case remains a priority. He remarked to the media, “Black women who go missing aren’t always taken seriously,” underlining the urgency of their campaign.
Social media has become a vital tool for the family in raising awareness. Calvin regularly posts updates about Chantel, sharing his intent to keep her story alive. “I just want to keep her face out there and not, as a Black woman, let her face fade away,” he shared, demonstrating his determination not to let her disappearance be forgotten.
Recent developments have led the family to believe that Chantel’s phone last pinged at Lagoon Valley Park in Vacaville, approximately ten miles from where she was last seen. The family organised a volunteer search on October 18 but found the park’s expansive terrain larger than they anticipated. “The area we searched was much bigger than we expected,” Kevin explained, revealing plans to conduct further searches in the coming days.
To support their investigation, Kevin has initiated a GoFundMe campaign aimed at hiring a private investigator. “We need help,” he stated on the fundraising page. “CiCi’s disappearance has received news attention, but for us this is not a headline. This is our sister. This is our family.” The emotional weight of their campaign reflects the personal stakes involved, as they seek both professional assistance and community support.
As the days turn into weeks, and now months, the Robinson family refuses to let hope dim. Each search, each social media post, and each interaction with authorities reflects their deep love and commitment to finding Chantel. Kevin’s poignant words resonate strongly: “We cannot do this alone,” encapsulating the essence of a family united in the pursuit of justice and the hope for answers. With continued efforts and community involvement, the Robinson family is determined that Chantel Brooks will not be forgotten.
