Witney Carson, the two-time champion of “Dancing with the Stars” (DWTS), has taken to social media to dispel recent speculation regarding her commitment to the competition while pregnant with her third child. Carson, aged 32, is currently partnered with Guillermo Rodriguez, a 55-year-old contestant, and the pair has consistently ranked among the lower-performing couples throughout the season. Despite this, they have managed to avoid elimination, thanks in part to fan support and voting. Carson explained that their position in the bottom three has led to misunderstandings about her emotional responses during elimination rounds.
“Every week, Guillermo and I have found ourselves in the bottom three. That doesn’t necessarily imply that we’ve received the fewest votes; it merely indicates our inability to celebrate being safe while we witness others leave the competition,” Carson clarified. Her visible reactions during eliminations, which have sparked speculation about her eagerness to leave, stemmed from a mix of sadness for those departing the show and joy for remaining in the running.

Carson expressed her heartfelt appreciation for being able to continue the journey in the competition alongside Rodriguez. “I’m genuinely grateful to still be in this contest week after week with Guillermo,” she stated. “He truly deserves this moment. He is a kind individual who wishes to improve and puts in maximum effort.”
Discussing Rodriguez’s dedication, Carson highlighted his commitment to practice, saying, “Whenever I take a break during rehearsals, he’s the one honing his skills. When we’re at TVC, he’s still pushing to practise. The performance you witness on Tuesdays represents his absolute best.”
Alongside her messages of gratitude, Carson also reassured fans regarding her health and that of her unborn child. She acknowledged the concern surrounding her pregnancy while competing but confirmed that she is aware of her physical limits. “I am very familiar with dancing and how far I can stretch myself,” she remarked. “I don’t feel pressed and have no reservations about my health.”
Carson went on to express how the show’s producers have been accommodating of her pregnancy needs and confirmed that she is feeling well despite feeling a bit more fatigued than usual. “I’m more tired than normal, but I’m making sure to rest when I’m not rehearsing,” she noted, assuring fans that she is following her doctor’s recommendations.
After announcing her pregnancy on “Good Morning America,” Carson expressed her excitement about welcoming another son to her family, saying she feels “incredibly grateful.” She and her husband, Carson McAllister, already have two boys, Leo, aged five, and Jet, aged three. “As long as both of us are alright, I will keep competing,” she remarked about her dual roles as a dancer and a mother.
In a joyful social media reveal on 21 September, the couple shared that they are expecting another baby boy, with Carson expressing her love for being a mother to boys. “I couldn’t feel more blessed with all these boys,” she wrote. “Being a boy mom is my greatest honour.”
Carson briefly addressed the impact of her pregnancy on her approach to the competition, noting a slight adjustment to her footwear. “I switch to slippers immediately,” she admitted, joking about the comfort preference over heels. Mentally, however, she stated that her determination and enthusiasm remain unchanged. “It’s in my nature to give my all, so I will continue to work hard, play hard, and perform hard,” she affirmed.
As the season of “Dancing with the Stars” progresses, Carson insists on maintaining focus and dedication while nurturing her pregnancy. The show airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with fans eagerly watching Carson and Rodriguez’s journey unfold.
