The incident took place during a driving scene with Anya Taylor-Joy’s stunt double, Hayley Wright, which led to an unexpected interaction with police.

While shooting a scene that featured a dramatic garage door exit onto a picturesque beach, Starkey and Wright had their fair share of excitement. According to Starkey, the scene was filmed using a long lens, which meant that crew members were not immediately present to supervise them. He vividly remembers the moment they spotted police lights flashing in the distance, prompting a quick and amusing exchange.

“I didn’t realise that they were going to throw cops in this section of the scene,” Starkey said. As panic set in, Wright quickly informed him, “I think we’re getting pulled over.” Sure enough, a police officer approached their vehicle to inquire about their activities.

The officer informed them that vehicles were prohibited from being on the beach. “He walked up to the driver’s side and asked what they were up to,” Starkey recalled. “And Hayley was like, ‘We’re filming a movie. We’re so sorry.’ The officer looked around and said, ‘Where are the cameras?'”

The situation was resolved swiftly, thanks to the crew’s production assistants, who sprinted over to clarify the misunderstanding. Starkey humorously added that before they managed to explain themselves, Taylor-Joy chimed in, saying, “So that’d be the worst thing you could ever say to a police officer.”
