Las Vegas is set to host an extraordinary weekend in July, as music legend Flavor Flav prepares to celebrate female athletes at the inaugural SHE Weekend. Running from Thursday, July 16 to Sunday, July 19, the event will feature an impressive array of over 100 athletes, including many who are anticipated to compete in the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In a statement released to the press, Flavor Flav expressed his excitement, saying, “I am honoured to be able to host these incredible athletes here in Las Vegas for my Flavor Flav SHE Weekend.” His vision for this event took shape after the U.S. women’s hockey team won gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics, coupled with their decision to decline an invitation to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. Flav’s response was clear: he wanted to create a real celebration for these athletes.

Kicking off on July 16 at Toshiba Plaza at 7 p.m., the weekend promises a vibrant opening with live performances. A grand parade will follow shortly thereafter, starting at 8 p.m. Notably, this parade will be open to the public, allowing both locals and visitors to join in the festivities without needing a ticket. The procession will feature local sports figures from teams such as the Las Vegas Aces, Raiders, and Golden Knights, in addition to approximately 20 community organisations.
As the parade concludes, Flavor Flav and the participating athletes will be presented with the keys to the Las Vegas Strip, an esteemed honour that underscores the significance of the event. The evening will culminate in a free concert showcasing prominent artists including Public Enemy, Blu DeTiger, and Grace Bowers, alongside surprise guests.
While the parade and concert are highlights, the SHE Weekend plans to offer much more for its distinguished guests. Athletes will enjoy various exclusive gifts, including meet-and-greet opportunities with popular acts like the Backstreet Boys and Ed Sheeran. An intimate dinner hosted by MGM Resorts will provide a special opportunity for camaraderie among the athletes.
In addition to the entertainment, the event will also feature two days of curated panels. These discussions will highlight influential women leaders across various sectors, including sports, entertainment, and business, further enriching the experience for participants and attendees. One key speaker will be Chantell Preston, Co-Founder and Owner of San Francisco SIGNAL, a League One Volleyball Team.
Flavor Flav’s vision for SHE Weekend gained traction earlier this year, with the rapper expressing his intent to throw a grand celebration for female Olympians and Paralympians. His enthusiasm was matched by the overwhelming response from the community and fans alike, eager to participate in an event honouring these remarkable athletes. A viral moment ensued when he attended a Clark County Commission meeting in May to seek approval for the event, showcasing his commitment to making this dream a reality.
For those unable to attend the weekend’s festivities in person, excitement is not lost. The SHE Center will serve as the official digital platform for the event, ensuring fans can follow their favourite athletes and stay engaged throughout the celebrations.
“This weekend is gonna be action-packed!” Flav noted, alluding to the dynamic programme lined up. The SHE Weekend is poised to not only spotlight the accomplishments of female athletes but also foster a sense of community and empowerment amongst women in sports.
As we approach the festivities, anticipation builds for what promises to be a landmark occasion for female athletes and their supporters alike. With its innovative celebrations and focus on female empowerment, SHE Weekend is set to redefine how we honour women’s contributions to sports and beyond. The vibrant city of Las Vegas will undoubtedly provide the perfect backdrop for this monumental celebration, making it a weekend not to be missed.
