Actresses Jennifer Garner and Chloë Sevigny recently opened up about their memorable experiences in Nantucket while filming for the new series, *The Five Star Weekend*, now available on Peacock. In an exclusive interview, the duo discussed their favourite haunts and the special moments they shared on the Massachusetts island during the production of the show.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Nantucket, the series, which features a talented cast including Regina Hall, Gemma Chan, and D’Arcy Carden, is based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel. The storyline revolves around a food blogger, played by Garner, navigating personal loss and the complexities of friendships amidst stunning coastal scenery.
Both Garner and Sevigny reflected fondly on their time off-camera, indicating that the sense of camaraderie felt among the cast and crew was heightened once filming wrapped. Sevigny, 51, expressed her appreciation for the close-knit atmosphere, revealing, “It was so great that we were at the end of our shoot, and that we had this time together, kind of isolated on this island. We got to enjoy it all together and have an ease amongst each other.”
Garner, 54, added that the experience was community-oriented, emphasising that “the whole crew” was involved in exploring the island. “We’re the tip of the spear, but we brought 100 people with us,” she noted. Their excursions included visits to local breweries, showcasing the island’s charm and vibrant culture.
Nantucket offers a wide array of activities, catering to different interests, which both actresses explored during their downtime. Garner highlighted the island’s versatility, stating, “You can have any kind of experience on Nantucket. You could be in nature, you could be on the beach, you can shop…” To which Sevigny enthusiastically responded, “Learn about history at the Whaling Museum.” Garner wholeheartedly agreed, expressing her delight at the island’s blend of leisure and education.
The cultural richness of Nantucket was further highlighted by Garner’s fondness for the island’s historic churches. Noting the beauty and serenity of these places of worship, she mentioned visiting several churches on Sundays, remarking, “They’re beautiful and historic, and those are really special too.”
While filming in the fall, the cast also found time to wind down at a local bar named The Gaslight. There, they indulged in a karaoke night, showcasing their lighter side. Garner and her co-stars, including Hall, Sevigny, Chan, and Carden, took to the stage to perform ABBA’s iconic hit “Dancing Queen,” much to the excitement of their fellow patrons.
To give her followers a glimpse into her life on the island, Garner later shared an Instagram post featuring a series of photographs from their time in Nantucket. The collection showcased moments of joy shared among the cast, scenic shots of the oceanfront, and even an interior image of one of the island’s historic churches.
*The Five Star Weekend* unfolds a narrative filled with depth, as Garner’s character, Hollis, invites her closest friends for a getaway following the sudden passing of her husband. The series delves into the complexities of their reunion, unveiling secrets, scandals, and the intricacies involved in their friendships.
All eight episodes of *The Five Star Weekend* are currently streaming on Peacock, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beautiful landscapes of Nantucket while enjoying the engaging narrative and dynamic performances by the cast. The show encapsulates not only the allure of the island but also the enduring ties of friendship and the emotional journeys that often accompany them.
