A couple from Nashville is currently in recovery after suffering severe burns due to an explosion that destroyed their taco truck, which had been their livelihood. Tim and Tiffany, the owners of TNT Taco Truck, experienced the harrowing incident while preparing for a day of work on June 4. Their daughter, Jada Pastrana, has shared their story and launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist with medical expenses.

The explosion not only obliterated their taco truck but also resulted in both Tim and Tiffany sustaining second- and third-degree burns. Following the blast, they were airlifted to a medical facility in Nashville, where they are receiving treatment for their injuries. As of June 9, the GoFundMe initiative set up by Jada has raised over £21,000 towards a target of £22,000, demonstrating the community’s support during this challenging time.

Jada expressed relief that her parents are alert, breathing, and able to converse, despite the gravity of their situation. However, she noted that their recovery is expected to be prolonged, likely involving many months of healing in the hospital.

In an update on the GoFundMe page, Tiffany detailed the events immediately following the explosion. The force of the blast had considerable impact, throwing her across the interior of the truck and pinning her against a wall. At the same time, Tim was propelled towards the exit. Tiffany recounted how Tim made the crucial decision to return into the burning vehicle to save her, an act she believes ultimately preserved their lives.

“Tim could’ve easily run out but chose to come back and get me and drag me out,” Tiffany shared in her emotional message. “Having to go through the explosion was hell before he managed to burst through the door and save us.”

As the couple continues their journey towards recovery, they are thankful for the outpouring of support from their community. Tiffany reflected on their situation, stating, “Tim and I are survivors and we are in the process of surviving.” Both she and Tim extend their gratitude to everyone who has reached out or offered assistance during this harrowing experience.

Additionally, Tiffany took the opportunity to express appreciation for the first responders and medical personnel who arrived at the scene and have continued to care for them. She called for a recognition of the EMS teams, firefighters, police officers, and even the customers who helped them during the emergency.

While the road to recovery may be long and fraught with difficulties, Tiffany remains optimistic about their future. She confidently stated, “With the help of God, all of you guys, and these fantastic nurses, doctors, and surgeons, we are going to be okay. It’s just going to take some time.”
