An Uber driver from Colorado, Javier Delgado-Cordoba, aged 29, is facing serious legal consequences following allegations of sexual assault. He has been charged with three counts relating to an alleged attack on a female passenger. Delgado-Cordoba turned himself in to authorities at the Jefferson County Jail on April 20, following an active warrant issued by the Arvada Police Department. Upon their arrival at the destination, the woman’s boyfriend exited the vehicle temporarily to unlock the front door. It is alleged that during this brief moment, Delgado-Cordoba moved to the back seat of the car and drove away with the woman. The boyfriend returned to find the car missing, leading to the subsequent alarming developments. Delgado-Cordoba is accused of abandoning the woman in a different city, where she managed to reach out to family members for assistance.
Authorities report that after the incident, the woman sought medical help and underwent a sexual assault forensic examination to gather evidence. Delgado-Cordoba was identified using various data points, including information from his Uber profile, social media presence, and DNA evidence collected during the investigation.
Currently, Delgado-Cordoba remains in custody with a bond set at £20,000. He is charged with sexual assault of a helpless victim, sexual assault of a victim unable to evaluate circumstances, and sexual assault without consent.
