**Las Vegas Food Enthusiast Reclaims Guinness World Record for Restaurant Visits**

In a remarkable culinary feat, Joshua Fyksen from Las Vegas has reclaimed the Guinness World Record for the most Michelin-starred restaurants visited in a single day. On May 9 and 10, 2025, Fyksen dined at 28 Michelin-starred establishments in New York City, surpassing the previous record of 25 set in 2024 by Sujoy Kumar Mitra and Rajnish Kumar Tripathi in Hong Kong.

Fyksen, who previously secured the record in 2023 by visiting 22 Michelin-starred restaurants in New York, decided to embark on another gastronomic journey to reclaim his title after it was usurped. The competitive foodie expressed his determination to retake the record, stating that he often feels compelled to prove himself in friendly competitions.

To prepare for this ambitious attempt, Fyksen meticulously reviewed the Michelin Guide and explored the websites and menus of various restaurants. His research included identifying options for obtaining a seat at establishments that serve tasting menus but typically do not offer à la carte choices. “For instance, the esteemed Eleven Madison Park serves an extensive tasting menu that requires a significant time commitment; however, their bar menu offers smaller bites without reservations,” Fyksen remarked.

Although he considered attempting his record-breaking challenge in culinary capitals like London, Paris, or Hong Kong, Fyksen ultimately opted to revisit New York City, a locale he knows well and feels comfortable navigating. Before his feat, he reached out to several restaurants that traditionally do not allow substitutions, seeking special arrangements that would accommodate his schedule. Some were receptive and even opened early to welcome him, while others maintained their established procedures.

Among the delightful dishes he sampled, Fyksen lauded the Jonah crab salad with apple and wasabi from Le Pavillon as his standout favourite. However, his day was not without unexpected hurdles. Just before arriving at Eleven Madison Park, he was caught in a heavy downpour that left him drenched and dishevelled. “I must’ve looked like a drowned rat because the host briefly questioned whether I was in the right place,” Fyksen recalled. Thankfully, the restaurant staff were gracious and even treated him to a welcome cocktail to help soothe his frayed nerves.

The final stop on his record-breaking culinary adventure was Gramercy Tavern in Gramercy Park, where he celebrated his achievement with an oyster and a glass of champagne, bringing a fitting conclusion to his day of indulgence. The total cost for his extraordinary gastronomic experience amounted to $1,451.34, with expenses divided into $976.97 for food and an additional $474.37 for transportation between venues.
