At 61, Kevin is experiencing a new chapter in his life as he revels in the joys of being a grandfather. He expressed delight in the playful activities he shares with his granddaughters, admitting, “These girls are putting makeup on me and tiaras, and I’m in, fully in.” He reflected on how different his experiences are with his granddaughters compared to his three sons, Kevin, Joe, and Nick. “With my boys, it was wrestling and throwing each other around the room. With these young ladies, it is really about just loving them,” he noted.
Together with his wife Denise, who he married in 1985, Kevin has navigated the challenging waters of parenthood for decades. He emphasised the importance of stepping back when it comes to parenting his granddaughters. “The parents are left with the responsibility to guide who they are, and I shouldn’t really cross those lines or I’ll create friction. So my only job without the heaviness of training is to love. It’s like freedom for me,” he explained.
While his sons are known for their performances before massive audiences, Kevin takes great pride in the fathers they have become. He expressed his admiration, saying, “They’re really good people; they’re really good young men. I am so proud of that… And you get to now see them impart that sort of good humanity on their offspring and a new generation of people. Love it, love it every day.”

He remarked on the joy of seeing his granddaughters flourish with qualities that reflect strong familial values. “Seeing it in action and watching them become really precious young ladies with values and purpose, that’s all the satisfaction I need,” he added.

The couple first met on their first day of college and married at the young age of 18. Reflecting on their journey, Kevin expressed gratitude for Denise’s steadfast support throughout his career. “I’m fortunate that I found someone who believed in me… that was there when I was on top and definitely more times than not when I wasn’t on top and just doing the grind,” he shared.
In discussing the essence of a lasting marriage, Kevin emphasised the importance of acceptance. “Accepting each other for who we are and yet still trying to encourage each other to be better,” he advised, noting that this mutual acceptance fosters a deeper appreciation for the various seasons of life they share together.

However, their enthusiastic response validated his efforts. “Their reaction was amazing… ‘Wow, that’s a great song, that’s a great wedding song.’ I find their input so validating,” he said, capturing a moment where their roles felt reversed, as they offered praise to their father’s artistic contribution.
