Former “So You Think You Can Dance” star Allison Holker has embraced life in Utah after relocating from Los Angeles earlier this year. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Holker shared insights about her new surroundings and personal journey since the tragic loss of her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss.
Holker, who is also a professional dancer, moved to Utah in February with her three children and her fiancé, Adam Edmunds, a tech CEO. Their relocation was particularly poignant, occurring just months after the untimely death of Boss, who passed away by suicide at the age of 40 in December 2022. The move represents a fresh start for Holker, who describes her transition from California to the Beehive State as a positive experience.

“I absolutely adore Utah,” Holker commented during the Dancers Against Cancer’s 2026 Industry Dance Awards held in Los Angeles on October 21. “It’s stunning and beautiful.” Having grown up in Utah, she feels a deep connection to the area, noting that her extended family, including her parents and siblings, still reside there. “My kids have their cousins nearby, and I’m back with friends from high school,” she added. “It’s been a dream to be back.”
Holker and Edmunds, who is 45, made their relationship public in September 2024, nearly two years after Boss’ death. Edmunds proposed shortly thereafter, during a surprise birthday party for Holker in February. She described the evening as “the most romantic night” of her life. The couple is now blending their families, with Edmunds being the father of a son named Cole.
In discussing her new family dynamic, Holker expressed how the move has been beneficial for her children. “It’s so perfect for raising children,” she remarked, explaining that the Utah environment allows them to explore their neighbourhood freely and make new friends. “They get to run around and just meet up with friends,” she continued, highlighting the joy her children have found in their new community.

The transition has also been an opportunity for Holker’s family to relax and enjoy life. “We’ve been able to let our guard down and just exist,” she said. “Every single day feels a bit more light-hearted.” The move signifies a significant break from the bustling life in Los Angeles, which can often be overwhelming.
Holker made a point to acknowledge the importance of keeping her late husband’s memory alive within their family. She shared that Edmunds speaks lovingly about Boss with her children, fostering an environment where they can remember him fondly. “It’s really beautiful to see him when he talks about my late husband,” she explained. “We celebrate his memory in a loving, light way.”
With her move to Utah, Holker is not only creating a new chapter in her own life but is also nurturing a supportive family environment for her children. This renewed sense of security and connection to her roots is clearly significant for the former dance show star, who has endured considerable heartache.
As she continues to navigate her journey in this vibrant, family-oriented setting, Holker remains optimistic about the future. The beauty and familiarity of Utah, combined with the support of her fiancé and the joy of raising her children in a nurturing atmosphere, offer Holker a sense of peace as she embraces this new phase of her life.
In a world where fame and public life can often overshadow personal struggles, Allison Holker’s heartfelt reflections remind us of the importance of love, community, and the enduring power of family. Her commitment to honouring Boss’s legacy while looking forward to a new beginning showcases her resilience in the face of adversity.
