Kraft Foods has unveiled a new culinary accessory aimed at enhancing dining on the go. On 15th October, the company announced the launch of Pocket Parm, a clip-on mini cheese shaker designed to attach easily to bags for convenient access to grated cheese while out and about.

The Pocket Parm range will be available in four flavours: the original variety, alongside three new options: Tomato Basil Parmesan, Garlic Herb Parmesan, and Cheddar. The product’s design promises a combination of practicality and style, featuring a colourful collectible charm that adds a touch of flair to the functional item. “Taking your cheese on the go is now part kitchen essential, part accessory,” stated Kraft in a recent press release.
The initial launch of Pocket Parm will be somewhat exclusive, beginning with a pop-up distribution in Los Angeles and Orlando. A Kraft food truck will be making rounds in Los Angeles from 13th October, followed by appearances in Orlando during the week of 26th October. Customers will have the chance to acquire the mini shakers from a unique, cheese-themed dispenser, though the brand has warned that obtaining one will require being “in the right place at the right time.”

Full-size versions of the Pocket Parm will hit the market in January 2027, further expanding the options available to cheese lovers. This novel accessory highlights a trend among food brands to innovate beyond traditional product lines, seeking to create memorable consumer experiences.

Kraft’s move into culinary merchandise comes amidst a growing wave of food brands diversifying their offerings in unusual ways. Recently, Burger King launched a limited series of chicken nugget-themed bags, cleverly named “Le Nugguette”. Released from 12th to 16th September, these small brown bags feature a handle and the brand’s logo, offering a playful take on takeaway packaging. Each bag is accompanied by a charm inspired by Burger King’s various sauces.
Chipotle has also jumped on the bandwagon, introducing the “Big Ass Chipotle Bag” on 13th October. This oversized bag, which measures three feet wide, 24 inches tall, and 12 inches deep, promotes the chain’s Family Meals, designed to serve four to six people. Chipotle’s initiative transforms its regular takeout bag into a high-fashion item, aiming to engage its customers by offering a fun and shareable experience.
The Pocket Parm launch not only reflects Kraft’s creative marketing strategy but also aligns with the zeitgeist of making dining experiences more interactive and enjoyable. As consumers increasingly seek novel options for on-the-go eating, brands are exploring hybrid product offerings that merge functionality with creativity.
As Kraft looks towards a 2027 launch for full-size products, the initial excitement surrounding Pocket Parm could set a precedent for further innovations in food packaging and accessories. By turning simple kitchen staples into fashionable items, Kraft acknowledges a shifting consumer landscape that values both convenience and style.
As food brands push the boundaries of traditional marketing and product development, it remains to be seen how effective these flashy new offerings will be at capturing the attention of consumers who are always on the lookout for the next big thing in handy dining solutions.
