Former contestants of reality show *Temptation Island*, Lino Troisi and Alexa Santamaria, celebrated their union for the second time with an extravagant wedding in Sorrento, Italy, from October 1 to 3, 2023. This picturesque location served as a backdrop to a three-day celebration that brought together 60 close friends and family members after the couple’s legal marriage in Florida just two and a half months earlier.
Santamaria, 31, expressed her joy to *PEOPLE* magazine, stating that Sorrento represented the culmination of their journey together. “We wanted our guests to fall in love with Sorrento the way we have,” she said. The three-day event allowed the couple to share their cherished experiences of the Amalfi Coast with those they hold most dear.
Troisi, aged 30, also reflected on the significance of the location, emphasizing how much of his life and relationship has been intertwined with Sorrento. He described the event as a full circle moment, allowing friends and family to immerse themselves in the local culture: “It doesn’t hurt that it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world!”
The festivities commenced with a welcome party on October 1 at Fattoria Terranova, a scenic farmhouse adorned with lush gardens. The gathering featured a local band and interactive cooking stations where traditional Italian dishes, including gnocchi and tiramisu, were prepared right before the guests’ eyes. Santamaria aimed for an atmosphere reminiscent of a nostalgic Italian family meal, making her entrance in a vintage red convertible with Troisi.
The couple’s wedding day, October 2, unfolded at a private villa with stunning views of Mount Vesuvius. It was a deeply personal ceremony, highlighted by heartfelt handwritten vows. The emotional moments were accompanied by live saxophone music, and the newlyweds selected significant songs for their walk down the aisle—Troisi to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and Santamaria to Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do.”
Santamaria walked down a grand staircase alone, a symbolic gesture representing her choice to unite with Troisi. “It felt really powerful and personal to walk toward him on my own,” she remarked. The wedding attire was also a highlight of the day. Santamaria chose a classic Milla Nova ball gown for the ceremony and later changed into a striking five-piece ensemble for the reception. Troisi, known for his keen sense of style, donned a black tuxedo for the ceremony before changing into a double-breasted silver pinstripe suit adorned with subtle custom embroidery.
The evening reception dazzled guests with elegant décor featuring green and white florals, candlelit tables, and an elaborate seating chart shaped like a tower of grapes. The culinary aspects were particularly special to Troisi, who wanted his guests to savour authentic Italian cuisine. The banquet included buffet-style selections of gnocchi and pesto linguine, alongside a three-tiered vanilla wedding cake and a delightful gelato cart.
The couple’s first dance was set to “You’re Still the One” by Teddy Swims, as they prepared for the celebrations that would last until late in the night, concluding in a private cave. Santamaria later donned a playful outfit for the “late-night cave after-party,” reflecting the joyous and relaxed vibe of the event.
The wedding weekend culminated on October 3 at the “Troisi Beach Club,” a cliffside venue where guests basked in the sun with a lively green and yellow theme inspired by the Italian coast. Personalised gifts, including embroidered towels and sunglasses, added a special touch as attendees enjoyed traditional pizza and refreshing drinks like limoncello and Aperol spritzes.
Troisi and Santamaria’s love story began in 2020 when they met at a gym in Winter Park, Florida. After a chance encounter following a serious injury sustained by Troisi, the pair quickly connected and began dating. Their engagement took place in Hawaii in June 2024, following the filming of the *Temptation Island* finale, with Troisi lovingly proposing with a stunning emerald-cut diamond ring.
Looking ahead, the newlyweds are keen to establish a life together in Italy, where they hope to open a bed and breakfast in the future. Already planning their next adventure, they embarked on a four-day “mini-moon” to Capri and are gearing up for a 17-day honeymoon in Fiji, where they intend to disconnect and relish their new married life.
