The couple, who began their journey together after meeting in 2017 through mutual friends, recently exchanged vows in a touching ceremony that highlighted their Filipino heritage and personal love story.

The newlyweds chose The Sterling Hotel for its stunning aesthetic, which resonated with their vision for a classic and elegant celebration. Built in 1894, the venue boasts intricate stained glass and original architectural features that add to its timeless charm. “The moment we saw the venue, we were captivated by its beauty,” shared Ancheta. “We wanted our guests to feel transported back in time.” Rosario echoed this sentiment, emphasising their desire for a wedding that would reflect the grandeur of a bygone era.
The couple’s wedding day featured traditional Filipino elements interwoven with a carefully curated decor theme. Reflecting on their vision, Ancheta described the atmosphere they aimed to create: “We incorporated silver trays, candelabras, and vibrant tropical florals like orchids, with a rich colour palette of chocolate brown, ivory, and cabernet.” With nearly 140 close family and friends in attendance, Ancheta aimed for an intimate celebration prioritising personal connections over larger numbers.
Ancheta took a hands-on approach to the planning, embracing the organisation with a spirited enthusiasm that she attributes to her creative nature. “While the process was stressful at times, it was mostly enjoyable,” she remarked, revealing that the couple focused on making their wedding uniquely theirs. Rosario added that sharing their ideas turned the planning into a meaningful experience.
As she walked down the aisle to the melodic strains of “Canon in D” and “Goodness of God,” Ancheta wore an elegant Basque-waist gown that combined intricate lace with dramatic elements. With both parents by her side, she held a bouquet featuring tiny white flowers symbolising sampaguita, the national flower of the Philippines. The couple embraced several beautiful ceremonies during their exchange of vows, including the lasso and veil cord ceremonies, which are emblematic of unity and lifelong commitment in Filipino culture.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a thoughtful dining experience that included dishes such as braised beef short rib and panko-crusted chicken. In a nod to their journey together, Ancheta and Rosario also provided a late-night pho and boba cart, reminiscent of their more modest dating days when they would indulge in these casual delights.
Their first dance, accompanied by “Ordinary” by Alex Warren, was a moment the couple had prepared for during their wedding planning. Taking dance lessons provided not only a break from the stress but also served to enhance their bond. “It became a new love language for us,” Rosario noted.

Looking ahead, they are excited to travel and start a family together. “I believe we will be great parents and raise beautiful children,” Rosario said, while Ancheta added that she looked forward to simply enjoying life alongside her new husband.
As they embark on this new chapter, the couple plans a honeymoon in Hawaii, exploring the islands of Kauai and Oahu. They cherished the idea of relaxing and unwinding after a busy year filled with engagement and wedding preparations. “We want to indulge in the food and enjoy the resorts and beaches,” Rosario remarked, while Ancheta expressed her eagerness to explore the new island and soak in the experience.
