She also experimented with her character’s voice, sending audio recordings to Lawrence, showing her commitment to bringing the character to life in a unique way.

Jacobson noted the joy that Close infused into the project, recalling how Close would send playful photos while experimenting with different hairstyles and makeup. “She’d be like, ‘Look at this,’” Jacobson remembered, reflecting on Close’s enthusiasm and openness during the costume and character development stages.

The film was primarily shot in Duisburg, Germany, near Düsseldorf. Interestingly, Close opted to sleep in her trailer rather than at the hotel where the rest of the cast and crew were staying. Lawrence recounted that during their first meeting in Düsseldorf, Close requested this arrangement, opting for practicality over luxury. “Her trailer’s great, I’ll just go sleep there,” he quoted her as saying, illustrating her down-to-earth approach and commitment to the project.
