**Carole Radziwill Discloses Surprising Links to “Love Story” in Latest “Real Housewives of New York City” Episode**

New episodes of “The Real Housewives of New York City” (RHONY) have returned, airing every Tuesday on Bravo. Among the revelations from the latest episode is an eye-popping confession from former cast member Carole Radziwill, who shared an unexpected connection to the FX drama series “Love Story.”
In a recent clip, Carole talked with fellow cast member Erika Hammond, recounting how she discovered the series was being produced about her late husband, Anthony Radziwill. “Did I share how I found out?” she asked, before elaborating, “Oh, my God. You just can’t make this up.”
Radziwill, who was married to Anthony from 1994 until his untimely death in 1999, described a peculiar experience while on dates. She divulged that a man she had been seeing once called with the news that he had auditioned for the role of her late husband in the series. To add to the bizarre tale, another suitor on the dating platform Raya had also claimed he auditioned for the same role. “I was like, ‘Are you f—ing kidding me? Two guys!’” she exclaimed, leaving Erika to chuckle, “Carole, you have a type.”
The tragic history surrounding Carole and her late husband figures significantly in the narrative of “Love Story.” Anthony was a cousin to John F. Kennedy Jr. and served as the best man at Kennedy’s secret wedding to Carolyn Bessette in 1996. Carole first crossed paths with the couple during a trip to the Hamptons in 1992, where she formed a close rapport with Bessette.
The wave of grief surrounding this circle of friends intensified when, in July 1999, John, Carolyn, and her sister Lauren tragically died in a plane crash off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard. Just weeks later, on August 10, 1999, Anthony succumbed to testicular cancer at the age of 40. The heartbreak of these losses compelled Carole to publish her memoir “What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship, and Love” in 2005, recounting her experiences with these notable personalities and the profound grief that accompanied their departures.
In the latest episode, Carole also reveals that her memoir is currently making waves once again. During a call with her publicist, she learns that her 21-year-old book has climbed to number 12 on the New York Times bestseller list. “Oh my f—ing God,” she reacts, attributing this renewed interest to the publicity surrounding “Love Story.”
Now aged 63, Carole noted, “Twenty years ago, I wrote and published a memoir. It was about my life with my husband, Anthony Radziwill, who was John Kennedy’s first cousin. Because of “Love Story” and all the buzz around that show, it’s like, oh my God, everyone is discussing it once more.”
While Grateful for the attention her memoir is receiving, Carole admits it is a bittersweet experience. She expressed her feelings on watching parts of her life played out for entertainment, stating, “It’s hard to see some of the most traumatic years of my life represented on television. But the resurgence of my book wouldn’t have happened without “Love Story.”
The Hulu miniseries, which stars Paul Anthony Kelly, Sarah Pidgeon, and Erich Bergen, has captured significant viewer interest, becoming FX’s most-watched limited series, and bringing renewed scrutiny to the lives of its high-profile subjects. Despite this, Carole has previously shared her ambivalence towards the ongoing retelling of JFK Jr. and Bessette’s narrative.
In a post from February 2026, she reflected on the relentless examination of their story, writing, “Sitting here now, we know how it ended. And yet the story keeps being told. Reinvented. Embroidered. Filled with details no one could possibly know, by people who weren’t there and don’t care about the truth.”
Although she has reached a level of acceptance regarding the legacy of her late husband and his family, Carole has decided against watching the series herself, asserting, “I am at peace with it all now.”
Season 16 of RHONY marks Carole’s return to the franchise after eight years away. She joins a new cast that includes Erika, Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Hailey Glassman, and Daisy Toye.
