Brandi Glanville, a former star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” recently opened up about the significant financial challenges she is facing due to her intensive medical treatment. Speaking on her “Unfiltered” podcast, she revealed that the costs associated with her healthcare have reached a staggering £16,000 monthly, resulting in the depletion of her savings over the past three years.

Glanville, who is 53, is dealing with a series of complex diagnoses related to a facial parasite that has led to noticeable disfigurement. In a candid conversation with her co-host James Maas, she described her daily treatment routine, which involves extensive intravenous therapies. “I start with an IV in the morning for hydration and potassium. After a brief respite, I move on to amphotericin, which takes about three and a half hours, followed by antibiotics that I wear to bed, affectionately referring to it as my ‘little purse’ named Chet,” she shared.

The reality star recounted that her treatment commenced around a month and a half ago, with initial projections indicating a potential duration of three to four months. However, she indicated that it could extend to a year, depending on her progress. “I’m not feeling good right now, and it’s concerning,” she admitted.
During the episode, Glanville disclosed that the financial burden of her medical needs is overwhelming. “Even with insurance, my costs are about £7,000 a week, and I constantly receive calls from creditors,” she said. Her friend Gina has started a GoFundMe campaign in a bid to alleviate the pressure, but Glanville expressed her discomfort about accepting such help. “I’ve always prided myself on being independent, so it’s embarrassing to ask for assistance when I never thought I would be in this situation,” she said tearfully.
The financial strain has left Glanville feeling emotionally depleted. “I have exhausted every avenue, and I don’t want anyone to see me like this. I feel like I’ve hit rock bottom,” she added, struggling to hold back her tears.
In a previous Instagram post on September 8, Glanville revealed her ongoing health battles for the first time to her followers. Among her numerous diagnoses are highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella, Coccidioidomycosis, Demodex dermatitis, and Mononucleosis. Each of these conditions carries its own complications, with ESBL Klebsiella being a type of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, while Valley Fever, as classified by the Mayo Clinic, is a fungal infection.
Glanville has disclosed that she is dealing with a “fungal ball” in her face that requires surgical removal. Additionally, she also needs to have metal from previous dental work extracted and breast implants removed, indicating a long road of continuous IV treatments ahead of her.
This heartfelt glimpse into Glanville’s life highlights not only her health challenges but also the immense pressure that medical costs can impose on individuals, especially those who may not have the financial backing to support prolonged treatment. As she navigates these trials, Glanville’s followers and friends have rallied in support, showcasing the importance of community in times of crisis.
While the financial and emotional burdens are heavy, Glanville continues to advocate for her health, embodying the resilience necessary to face such formidable obstacles. Through her experiences, she hopes to raise awareness about the realities of living with chronic health conditions and the effects they have on both physical and mental wellbeing.
