On September 12, Diallo shared her transition via an Instagram post, revealing that she has recently graduated from the Sexology Institute and established her own online coaching practice named Bandwidth, which is currently open for clients.

The former NAACP official first gained prominence in 2015 amid controversy concerning her racial identity. Despite being born to White parents, Diallo claimed Black ethnicity, which led to significant backlash and ultimately her resignation from the NAACP. Her announcement of her sex coaching career marks a significant pivot from the scrutiny she faced in the past.
In her post, Diallo expressed excitement about her new role, praising her journey with an affirmative message. “Certified. I did it! Woohoo, my office is open!” she exclaimed alongside pictures of herself celebrating in her graduation attire, complete with a black cap and gown. The celebratory visuals were paired with the traditional graduation tune “Pomp and Circumstance,” highlighting the significant milestone.
Diallo elaborated on her coaching practice, identifying it as a personal endeavour. Drawing on her experiences as a single mother of three, she emphasised the importance of mental well-being and connection in her work. “I know what hypervigilance, burnout, and carrying the mental load do to connection,” she noted. In 2015, after her parents publicly revealed her birth identity, Diallo faced a whirlwind of criticism and backlash. She maintained her position in the face of a media storm, insisting that her self-identification as Black was rooted in her lived experience. “There’s a lot of complexities … and I don’t know that everyone would understand that,” she stated during the turbulent time.
As the fallout from her statements unfolded, Diallo lost several employment opportunities, including her position at Eastern Washington University and her leadership role within the NAACP. Reflecting on these significant life changes in a Vanity Fair interview, she stated, “[I lost] friends and the jobs and the work and — oh, my God — so much at the same time.” Despite this, she held firm to her belief that her self-identity was authentic, countering claims of deception with her perspective on race.
In 2017, Diallo formally changed her name to Nkechi Amare Diallo, aiming to shift focus back to her qualifications rather than her controversial past. Earlier this year in February 2024, she was terminated from a teaching position in Arizona after it was revealed that she operated an OnlyFans account.
