A man aged in his sixties has been taken into custody following a significant drug seizure at Dublin Airport. The authorities confiscated approximately 11 pounds of cocaine, estimated to be worth around £580,000, which was reportedly hidden within bags of lollipops.

The operation took place on Thursday, September 10th, as part of a larger inquiry known as Operation Skein, spearheaded by Ireland’s Economic Crime Bureau. This was confirmed in a press release issued by the Revenue office in Ireland.
Officers from the Irish Revenue, in collaboration with a specialised drug enforcement unit, conducted a search of luggage belonging to a passenger arriving on a flight from Brazil. During the inspection, they uncovered the concealed cocaine inside the sweet treat packaging.
