A tragic accident in Alabama has claimed the lives of two young siblings and left their older brother recovering in hospital. Family and friends are grappling with overwhelming grief following the incident, which occurred on 11th September near Chandler Mountain Road.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) reported that the crash involved a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 16-year-old, who lost their life when the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree. The accident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. local time. Unfortunately, Alonso Alvarado, aged 16, and his sister, 10-year-old Lia Miriam Alvarado, were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the collision.
Their older brother, Juan Alvarado, aged 18, was a passenger in the vehicle and survived the horrific event. He was transported to a local hospital for serious injuries and underwent surgery shortly after the crash; however, updates on his condition remain unclear at this time.

In a heartfelt message posted on the GoFundMe page, the family expressed their deep sorrow: “Our family is heartbroken and trying to process an unimaginable amount of pain all at once.” They requested support and prayers for Juan’s recovery and for strength to cope during this devastating time.

Superintendent Rusty St. John stated, “There is nothing I can say that makes a day like this any easier. Our hearts and prayers are with the families, and with the Steele and Ashville communities.”
