A grand jury in Georgia has indicted Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., the 15-year-old son of reality television star Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann, on seven felony charges. According to court documents, these charges include aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, and multiple counts of sexual battery against a minor under the age of 16. The indictment relates to an incident reported to have occurred on April 23, 2026.

KJ, who was arrested on August 17 in Alpharetta, Georgia, is currently held at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center in Atlanta. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 9. The charges against him are serious, and if convicted, he could face significant legal consequences.

Following her son’s arrest, Kim Zolciak publicly addressed the allegations, describing them as “reckless and deeply troubling.” In a statement to Us Weekly, she asserted that her son categorically denies any wrongdoing and claims he has never been involved with the alleged victim. Zolciak added that KJ voluntarily took a polygraph test regarding the accusations, which he reportedly passed, and that a medical examination found no DNA evidence linking him to the alleged incident.
Zolciak expressed her concern about the implications of false accusations, highlighting their potential harm not only to the accused but also to genuine survivors of abuse. “Every legitimate allegation deserves to be taken seriously and investigated based on the facts and evidence,” she stated, while urging the public to refrain from prematurely condemning KJ based solely on allegations.
The 15-year-old is one of six children that Zolciak and Biermann share, including KJ’s younger siblings: Kash, 14, and twins Kaia and Kane, 12. In addition, Biermann has adopted Zolciak’s older daughters from a previous relationship. The couple, who are currently undergoing a tumultuous divorce, filed for separation in April 2023 after nearly twelve years of marriage. Although there were reports in July suggesting that they had attempted to reconcile for the sake of their children, Biermann ultimately filed for divorce a second time in August.
Zolciak has previously filed concerns regarding Biermann’s parenting, alleging in a motion for an emergency hearing that he was neglectful in caring for their children. She claimed that the children expressed a need for food and medical help while in his custody and further alleged that one child had suffered “frightening rage-fuelled tirades” from Biermann. Her filing indicated that at least one child spoke to their therapist about having experienced “mental, emotional, and physical abuse.”
The legal status of Zolciak’s motion remains unclear, but it follows a previous court ruling that awarded Biermann primary physical custody of their children after he raised concerns about Zolciak’s stability. Despite ongoing custody disputes, the couple shares joint legal custody of their children, with Biermann given final say regarding education, non-emergency medical care, and religious decisions. Both parents reportedly have limited parenting time with their children, sharing custody every other weekend.
This ongoing case has provoked significant public interest due to the family’s previous reality television prominence and the severity of the allegations. As the legal proceedings unfold, the focus remains on how this situation impacts the children’s wellbeing, particularly in light of the serious accusations faced by KJ. With the court date set for September 9, the family is bracing for the next steps in a highly scrutinised and distressing chapter of their lives.
