The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office became involved in the case when they received a report regarding the alleged assaults on 3 August. The children, aged four and seven, reportedly described instances of repeated sexual abuse involving multiple unknown males. According to the arrest warrant affidavits, it is alleged that Hoyle knowingly facilitated access for these men to her daughters in exchange for money and drugs.
The arrest affidavits reveal troubling details about the living conditions of the children. The younger daughter, while unable to provide extensive details regarding the abuse due to her age, reportedly confirmed key aspects of her sister’s accounts, including instances of inappropriate touching by various males.

One particularly alarming claim is that Hoyle was allegedly present during at least one of the assaults, described as sitting on the floor nearby whilst engrossed in scrolling through TikTok on her phone. This raises serious questions about her awareness and disregard for the welfare of her daughters during these incidents.
In addition to the sexual abuse allegations, the affidavits highlight severe neglect in the children’s daily lives. Reports indicate that routine tasks such as washing dishes or maintaining personal hygiene were neglected, with the children lacking access to water in their home. They were reportedly forced to use a bucket for their toilet needs, an alarming indication of the conditions they were living in.
As of 18 August, Hoyle remained in custody at the Berkeley County Jail with a bail set at $250,000. The case has drawn considerable attention and concern, with many members of the community expressing disbelief over the allegations.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of safeguarding children and the need for vigilant reporting of suspected abuse. Authorities urge anyone who may suspect child abuse to contact the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline, which provides confidential support at all hours.
The impact of such traumatic experiences on young victims can be profound and long-lasting. Those who have experienced sexual abuse are encouraged to reach out for help, with resources available to connect them with trained professionals who can offer the support they need.
This case continues to unfold, and the community remains watchful as further details emerge. The wellbeing of the children involved is now the priority, as investigations progress and legal proceedings commence.
